Kakilang Mahjong Club was never meant to be a business.
It started with six girls who happened to meet at work. Like many friendships, ours began with lunches, after-work chats, and eventually... mahjong nights.
At work, we're constantly solving problems, thinking a few steps ahead, adapting when things don't go as planned. Mahjong felt strangely familiar.
Sometimes you get a great hand. Sometimes you don't. What matters is how you play with what you're given.
As we kept playing, we realized something — a lot of people were curious about mahjong, but many felt intimidated before they even started. Too many rules. Too many tiles. Too complicated.
That's why we started teaching the version we believe is the most beginner-friendly: Hong Kong Mahjong. Simple enough to learn in a day. Strategic enough to keep you coming back for years.
Because that's exactly how we hope everyone feels when they join our table. Whether you come alone, with friends, or knowing absolutely nothing about mahjong — you're welcome here.
No pressure to be good. No pressure to know the rules. Just a group of people sharing a table, learning together, laughing at mistakes, and celebrating small wins.
